GLENNVILLE, GA (WTOC)- Glennville got the chance to host many of the key people who keep Georgians safe Thursday. Staffers and board members from the State Prison Board, Pardons and Paroles and Public Safety meet together once a year. Board members come from across the state to help guide the agencies and recognize officers who help catch, punish and rehabilitate criminals in Georgia. Town leaders were glad to see them in a community that is invested in the prison system.
"This is where the rubber meets the road. They get to see our law enforcement, they see how the prison system's looking, what budget constraints are put on the prison system and the impact it has on the city," Chris Roessler, Glennville Mayor.
The featured speaker at the event was Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Carol Hunstein.
