PREVIEW: 45th Annual Rattlesnake and Wildlife Festival | Events
CLAXTON, GA (WTOC) - The 45th Annual Rattlesnake and Wildlife Festival opens this weekend in Claxton.
Thousands of people are expected to attend and get up close to all kinds of exotic animals and of course, rattlesnakes.
"We're going to be promoting all kinds of wildlife with this event. We've got plenty of rattlesnakes, but we have expanded. We will have a lot more to come, see and do." says Bruce Purcell with the Evans County Wildlife Club.
"There's going to be camel rides and so many different exotic animals, a little different from a zoo because you are going to be able to get up and be personal with these animals and just a lot, a lot of fun. A lot of education and we're all about helping out." added Demere NeSmith with NeSmith Chevrolet.
The event kicks off Friday night with a beauty pageant. Then on Saturday, WTOC will be in Claxton broadcasting the big parade live, so if you can't be there, make sure to tune in Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to WTOC-TV.
