Millions of Americans consume tons of sugar every day, and it's virtually impossible to escape what some health experts call a toxin destroying our bodies.

In the past 20 years, Dr. Paul Bradley says he's seen a startling increase in obesity and diabetes. He said two decades ago only half of the country was overweight, now, more than two-thirds of the country is overweight.

One reason for this, he believes? Sugar.

Tattnall Chamber leader: Email is a hoax

REIDSVILLE, GA (WTOC)- David Avery's phone woke him Tuesday before his alarm clock. Friends and business contacts had received an email he was stranded overseas and needed financial help to get home. 

Someone had hacked into his email account as executive director of the Greater Tattnall County Chamber of Commerce and sent the distress email to more than 3,000 contacts. The email stated he was in the Philippines on business and had lost his wallet and had no money for credit cards for the return trip. The letter asked for a loan to get home.

METTER, GA (WTOC)- On May 1, the Metter Police Department along with law enforcement officers with the Candler County Sheriff's Office, Tri-Circuit Drug Task Force, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the US Postal Inspectors Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Lillian St. in Metter. Authorities executed the search warrant after they received information and citizen complaints concerning the distribution of marijuana from occupants of the residence.
