Crews rescue worker off water tower

COBBTOWN, GA (WTOC)- Rescue crews from Tattnall County and as far away as Fort Stewart and Ware County helped bring a collapsed maintenance worker from the top of a city water tower.

The worker was part of a crew doing scheduled work on the City of Cobbtown's 135 foot tall water tower. The work started Tuesday morning. Cobbtown fire chief Larry Collins said crew members were going back and forth up the tower when they could not reach one of the team.

"He'd been working inside the tank but make it out to the walkway," Collins said. "He probably overheated."
